Barcelona S - 9 October 2016

So my first triathlon (Sprint) in Barcelona !
I have been to Barcelona several times, so I was not stressed about the location. But I have never before competed in a triathlon, so that was a surprise for me.
I arrived Saturday morning at the airport. My friend picked me up and we went to the area for the check-in and to see the parcours. It was really big, at least 3000 athletes for XS, S and M distance combined. After we dropped off our stuff we went back downtown to chill a little bit. We had a great dinner, in a healthy restaurant which I highly recommend. It is called Flax & Kale (restaurant with two floors and a terrace) with vegetarian & flexitarian food***, delicious.
My race started at 12:40 pm on Sunday, so I had time to prepare myself but it all went really fast when I arrived on the beach. We were about 150 people per wave so it was tough at the beginning of the swim. Thankfully the water was 24°C and clean.
The bike was very easy in the city, no difficulties. Same for the run, alongside the sea and a park.
Thanks to the coaches and Expatriés Team for this 1-month preparation. I really had good feelings during the race, looking forward to the next one.
My results for the Sprint : 1h16min33s
91e/673 and 12e in my group age (25-29 years)
My conclusion : Barcelona triathlon is a really nice race to end the season, especially if you want to extend the summer and enjoy some tapas after the race. *** https://theflexitarian.co.uk/the-flexitarian-diet/
